Allis Wine Bar

Walk down the garden path and step inside the cellar door to find Allis Wine Bar, the latest offering from Ten Minutes by Tractor.

The wine bar has been a long-term project for owners Karen and Martin Spedding, who wanted to create a casual venue inspired by their love of wine and shared experiences.

Here, wine flights and tastings are accompanied by innovative, seasonal small plates expressing the same low-waste ethos as the restaurant.

As for the name? 'Allis' is a nod to the charming Allis Chalmers tractors that inspired the fit-out and feature in the Ten Minutes by Tractor logo. You’ll find one stationed at the entrance to the estate and smack-bang in the centre of the restaurant next door.

Inside, the chairs are painted the same burnt orange hue as the vintage machinery, softened by dusty pinks and sandy beige tones in the artwork and decor. It’s the same colour palette created by the handmade bricks of the ombre tasting bench, representing the soil profile of the estate’s Coolart Road Vineyard.

The intimate dining room is expanded by cathedral ceilings and wall-to-wall windows overlooking the vineyard below. Natural timbers and earthy tones make the space feel warm and inviting, whilst the velvet drapes add a touch of theatre and hint at what's to come from the kitchen.

The food is – unsurprisingly – exceptional, made from produce sourced locally or pulled from the regenerative farm on-site. Start with the 10x Tractor Oil – made with olives from their Judd Vineyard and served with house-baked focaccia – before moving on to crispy potato topped with smoked crème fraiche and pickled onions.

For larger plates, perhaps the Hazeldene chicken ravioli with pine mushroom, tarragon and baby leeks – or something light – the bonito tartare with wasabi buttermilk, cucumber, dill and radish. For dessert, the baked cheesecake with candied orange and melt-in-your-mouth honeycomb is a total show-stopper and the perfect way to finish a meal.

Allis Wine Bar is open Friday – Sunday from 11 am, with the option to dine à la carte or experience the Allis Snack Pairing with Ten Minutes by Tractor's award-winning single vineyard wines.
