A sense of laid-back luxury reflects the location in the rural hinterlands of Red Hill South, with sparkling waters and award-winning wineries nearby.
The cottage is owned by Catherine Repellin and her husband Patrice, the lauded French chef of Maison by Patrice, and previously, of Koots Salle à Manger. The pair renovated the property in 2021, creating a home-away-from-home where guests can escape from city life.
Elsewhere accommodates seven people, with three bedrooms, a luxurious main bathroom and an additional powder room. The cottage is styled with a mix of vintage and modern décor, balancing rustic charm with contemporary comfort. Each of the bedrooms features premium linen and plush carpet underfoot. The designer bathroom is a peaceful retreat with terrazzo flooring, an epic rain shower and a luxurious claw foot bath to soak in.
A spacious, light-filled living room centres around an open fireplace, making it the perfect spot to curl up with a book. The kitchenette and dining area – with its farmhouse sink, lux gold tapware and cosy coonara – is well equipped and straight out of the pages of Country Style. Whilst the space pays homage to its original roots; it comes with all of the creature comforts you’d expect, including speedy WiFi and air-con.
A rare feature of the accommodation is the option to have your stay fully catered for by Patrice himself, with the possibility of hosting a dinner party for up to twelve guests. Indeed, the outdoor dining area is ideal for a relaxed long lunch overlooking the leafy grounds.
The property is home to native wildlife, with a mindful bushwalk recommended for spotting the resident wallabies, echidna and koalas. It’s a quiet neck of the woods that offers a much-needed retreat from city life.
Whilst the area feels private and secluded, it’s a short drive to the region’s renowned wineries – including Stonier, Montalto, Ten Minutes by Tractor and Paringa Estate – as well as local farm gates andprovedores, including the iconic Cellar and Pantry.
