Jackalope Hotel has announcedthe return of their highly successful Yum Cha series, which launched last year with an eight-week residency. The six-week series will act as Part IV of the Total Alchemy program, which also includes still-to-come experiences with restaurants such as Entrécote, Tipo 00 and Nomad.
Arriving at Jackalope on Saturday July 20 for six weeks, this presentation of Neo-Chinese cuisine will feature a collection of traditional dishes, delivered with a luxurious ‘Jackalope’ twist in their hatted restaurant Doot Doot Doot.
Founder Louis Li is thrilled to welcome guests to the property for this exciting dining experience, one which recognises and reflects his Chinese heritage and culture.
In a refreshed format to traditional Yum Cha, the banquet style Saturday sessions will serve Chinese classics such as Prawn Toast with XO Sauce, Roast Duck Dumpling, Steamed Fish with Coriander, Ginger, Spring Onion & Soy paired with a selection of innovative dishes such as Black & Gold Prawn Dumpling, Pork & Prawn Shu Mai with Caviar and Fried Sticky Rice Dumpling.
This year, Jackalope's Yum Cha experience has been enriched with the addition of a Mahjong experience. Available for groups of four, guests wanting to spend the afternoon with the backdrop of Jackalope's vines can reserve a Mahjong table pre or post their Yum Cha experience and indulge in the game of skill with Flaggerdoot's famed Jasmine Gimlet in-hand.
“Jackalope is renowned for satisfying culinary curiosities and this collaboration does just that” says General Manager of Jackalope, Clare Hoffman. “This latest dining experience challenges the boundaries of traditional Chinese Yum Cha, with the addition of a number of original dishes, cultivated by Louis.” says Hoffman.
At $120 per person, the Saturday sessions, from 12:30pm will include a curated selection of Yum Cha dishes, plus a range of traditional Chinese teas. Jackalope's Mahjong experience is available to book at $60 per person for one Mahjong game and two cocktails.Reservations are currently open for both Yum Cha and Mahjong and can be made via the website.
