Kate Shanasy 'Dunes' Exhibition

Local photographer Kate Shanasy's latest exhibition 'Dunes' is taking over Ocean Beach Yoga in Sorrento for the month of June.

The exhibition features 25 photographs taken on Mornington Peninsula back beaches during rolling COVID lockdowns in 2021 – 2022.

During this time, Kate would wander along the clifftops near her studio in Blairgowrie, scaling the dunes to capture the sunset. It was a daily ritual that connected her to the natural world around her, following the changing of seasons and the rise and fall of the tide.

"To me, Dunes is introspective, a slowing down and a discovery of new in the comfort of old. A joy of being alone."

With an extensive body of work as a writer, photographer and videographer, Kate is renowned for her playful approach, her propensity for depth and her inexplicable ability to create and capture feeling.
